Google Art & Culture app has released a new feature which allows users to find their doppelganger in the art world. The feature is now live.
Using this computer vision technology, the application matches a user’s selfie with this Google’s work of art & culture from its wide data base.
The company said: “With this new feature users can take a picture of them & upload it, & the app using computer vision technology will automatically match it with a work of classical art from one of the several art museums worldwide”.
The feature, which is going viral internationally & was rolled out on Friday in India.
The belief that we have seven lookalikes in the world may not be completely true but through this application of google arts & culture app there is artwork somewhere of the world looks like you try to find the nearest match, showing estimated percentage of visually between face & art.
In their company, software engineers are always experimenting with new creatives to connect all over the world through their art & culture app. People have used this feature by taking over 30 million selfies in its first roll-out.
The spokesperson said, “we created an experiment that matches the selfie with art from the collections of museums on google arts & culture, & over the past few days people taking more & more selfies”.
After looking at the success in US, they are excited to include other countries too, including our country.
Though the new application connects users to more than 6,000 exhibitions, from more than 1,500 museum partners across 70 countries.
Not only the common man is excited to see, but also famous celebrities have tried this app & still going on.
The virtual art platform hosts millions of artifacts & pieces of art, ranging from prehistory to the contemporary, shared my many museums all across the world.
