Believe me, these are just 5 names I mentioned above. There are thousands of such bloggers across the world. How did they all make it? Simple, they love what they do and developed passion for it. Although people are making huge money from blogging, the question is – Should you start a blog to make your living?

Well, not exactly. As I already mentioned, if you blog with any other motive except passion then there are high chances that you might get into desperation. Fear-filled blogging leads to little or no money. You have to spend hours of time learning, connecting with people, developing content, and doing better things to help the audience. Blogging is not easy money or a shortcut, If it would, then everyone would be making billions today. Agree?

Here are 3 questions you should ask yourself before you start:

  1. Are you open to learning new things, practice, and experiment?
  2. Have got never-give-up, being a helpful, generous attitude?
  3. Passion to write, listen to people?

That’s all! You don’t have to be an SEO master, excellent writer or some kind of celebrity to build a successful blog. If you strongly believe you have the above qualities then you are good to go. Everything falls in a place once you step on and keen to learn.

I have started my part-time blogging in the year 2015. Since then I have made so many blogging mistakes, dumb ones. However, my passion for writing makes me keep going. I have connected with people, learned skills and practices from them, and here I am sharing my personal experiences. Blogging gets so much easier when you blog with consistency and fun.

Key practices to focus

  • No matter how bad your English is, just start writing, eventually, it will develop.
  • Develop relationships with fellow bloggers.
  • Help other bloggers – one day it will come back to you.
  • Don’t fear to do something new and creative
  • Be open to asking help if you don’t know something.
  • You don’t have to always please the search engines. You must only focus on satisfying the reader.
  • Invest in resources like designing your blog, buying eBooks, courses from experienced professionals.
  • Patience and generosity, must.

Nothing sails smooth; Be it a job, business or blogging. You need to give your best!

How to convince your family?

If you are in the middle of the studies I suggest you focus on getting a graduation cap first. However, you can focus on Work from home jobs parallelly to drive some bucks into your pockets.

If you are just graduated from college and thinking about your career in blogging, then continue reading below…

I don’t know about other countries, but in India, blogging is still not a healthy career choice for most of the parents. Yep! Because it is not that popular like Engineering or MBA jobs. Believe in yourself and boost your confidence before you put this to your parents. Brief your parents about blogging, how it works, how much people are earning and how much you can earn, etc things in a cool way.

Maybe they might not agree for the first time but keep trying to convince. After all, your happiness is all they want.

Full time or part-time blogging?

Well, most of the parents may not agree with you to choose full time blogging as a career, I know. In that case, it is advisable to put blogging as a part-time serious job. Give it 2-3 hours a day and see how it goes. Once you start making some money, you can just quit your regular job for full-time blogging. Most successful bloggers followed this same strategy.

How much you can make from blogging?

It is hard to answer. There are bloggers who even make $100,000 a month and few can’t make even $100 a month. It depends on various factors like niche PPC, monetization method, no. of targeted visitors, etc.

Let me be honest with you. I hardly make money on my blog even after these many years. Why? Because I made many mistakes in terms of content, niche selection, my mindset towards blogging, etc. However, I started realizing the actual things and now I’m on the right path. To put an end to your question, I must say Hard work always pays off. You just need to keep your goals handy.

How to make money?

Now comes an exciting part!

Don’t worry about this! There are many ways to make big money once you have an authority blog. For at least a year, focus on building your influence, trust with the people around you, creating helpful content, and promoting your articles more and more. Get the readers to trust you, show up yourself on the blog, engage with the audience, get feedback and upgrade yourself.

Ways to make money:

  • eBooks
  • Ads via Google Adsense or Media net
  • Sponsored articles
  • Affiliate marketing
  • Sell your knowledge on blogging via a course or consultation method
  • Blog services
  • Content writing
  • Collaborations

It really does brother. Money comes if you fall in love with the process, generously helping people. It can and DOES come.

  2. Hi Mudassir,

Excellently written. Blogging is a hot kitchen, you can’t rush things else, you will get burnt. When you start seeing much progress, you will be forced to turn it to a full-time income.

Good One Mudassir, and thanks for the mention.
