Hi, Welcome to NettyFeed. Explain briefly about your startup and how did you come up with this idea?

After graduating from TISS , I undertook deep research on SME and startup ecosystem in the  country and found out a major challenges which majority of the established as well as early stage ventures were going through. He consolidated the learnings and knowledge and Founded Headsup Corporation. A Consulting startup which focuses on Human Resource management and Brand Management of the organisation

Could you briefly tell us about the Founders?

Mr. Sumit Kumar is  Founder and Director of Headsup Corporation. Sumit started his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 17 when he co-founded a digital media firm while studying at Shaheed Sukhdev College of business studies, University of Delhi. He would go on to Start is own event management startup called WYSIWYG Conference. Along with his teammates he created India ‘s largest scannable  QR Code which was recognised by Limca Book of Records in 2012. He completed his Master’s In human resources from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai where he co-founded a  student body called as HRM&LR Forum which will help the entire institution gain major branding and presence in the Digital space.

Tell us about your amazing team members?

From the very inception Maninder has been the driving force for the organisation. He brings in creativity, excitement and a sense of responsibility among the team members. Aparna Dhas and Kritika have been there from very beginning itself. They have helped organisation scale to new heights by bringing in process systems and most importantly best talent to a new organisation. Parul, Gupil have been instrumental in taking the brand to the market by there social media and digital marketing skills and Abhishek has been a constant support. We have very talented designers in Amita and Kajal. We have extremely creative content writers in Bipasha and Pranay. Our HR Consulting part is taken up by Alokita and Smriti. Anjali rounds up the business analysis part while Raghav is the BD person.

Further, our in house startup called as AltSpace is headed by Vaibhav. We have multiple consultants and project based people from leading institutes of the country like TISS, IIM, JNU to name a few.

What is the big picture of your company? What are your future plans?

We want to become the go to organisation for significant number of startups and SMEs in India and Abroad.

What is your best motivation line that inspires you?

For me, drive means a combination of a willingness to work hard, emotional fortitude, enormous powers of concentration and a refusal to admit defeat. – Sir Alex Ferguson

What challenges do you face within the market currently?

  1. Making the client understands the requirement of the need at the early stage of their organisational life cycle.
  2. Making people understand the importance of having an Effective People management and Employer Branding approach in the organisation.
  3. Another challenge comes with managing the aspirations of the clients and the employees at the same time while trying to show the result to both the set of people involved in a particular project. In a nutshell, bridging the gap between them is a challenge.

Could you share details about source of funding, revenue, client acquisition model and statistics so far?

We are completely bootstrapped  and growing 2X month on month. Our Revenue is through our services which we provide to our clients both on Retainership model and Project Basis. References and Social Media Platforms are working the best for us. Also, every employee acts as BD Manager as they have the license to get clients.

What advice would you like to give the upcoming entrepreneurs?

Hire people who believe in the idea and can grow with the job: This can be done by identifying the tasks which you would like the new hire to perform by involving the existing team and employees. As a manager, you must become the decision enabler and let the team do the decision making by itself. This makes the decision more binding and more acceptable. Next, try to become a nonchalant shopper who is out in the market to buy the product because you are motivated to purchase and not because of the psychology of the marketer has overpowered your need. While shopping for a laptop, this might not matter much. However, as a hiring manager, choosing for talent might have substantial consequences. Additionally, forecast the hiring requirements so that you have enough time to get the best (most fit) candidate.
