Hi Tanvi, Welcome to NettyFeed. Could you please explain briefly about your startup and about the Founder(s)?
Young, creative and enterprising Tanvi Sekhsaria is the founder of an Interior Designing firm known as Little Ms. Designer. She holds a degree in Interior Designing from the reputed Rachana Sansad in Mumbai. 26 year old Tanvi, has been providing design solutions to residential and commercial projects for more than five years. Two and a half years ago, she decided to start her own venture after gaining 3 years of hands-on experience at reputed firms like Talati Panthaky Associates & to Gauri Design Studio in Mumbai.
She believes, she gained commercial experience while establishing her firm Little Ms. Designer (LMS). Her design firm has successfully executed more than 20-25 projects in a short span of 2.5 years. LMS has been appreciated for their minimalistic design aesthetics and efficiency. LMS is one of the very few firms in the city that stresses on ‘after service’. Team LMS encompasses of site supervisors, designers and a dedicated team of contracts. Under Tanvi’s guidance, Little Ms. Designer’s team has designed the popular eatery ‘Pop-Up Hut Cafe’, followed by ‘Zegdo Boutique’, ‘The Pilates Studio’ amongst many others.
What has been the biggest challenge for your startup in initial stages?
Beginning a startup is never easy. It comes with several challenges. Setting the right team was one of the hardest parts for me. The number of people doesn’t matter much. It takes time to find the right people to do the right job, especially when the pay scale is not too high as it’s a startup.
Who are your Targeted audience?
My audience varies young 20-60 years including young entrepreneurs, businessmen, restaurant and cafe owners and anyone who would like to design their house for themselves.
What type of strategies do you think is valuable to take company to the next level?
I am very happy with how things have turned out for the company. But one should never stop striving for the best. I would work more on focusing on the timelines and better quality work, along with great marketing and social media to reach out to as many people as possible. Besides doing local projects, I would like to expand on national and even international projects, which I would like to achieve with some interesting collaborations. This and recently starting my own furniture line should definitely help in reaching to the next level.
Tell us about your amazing team members?
We have a small team of 3-4 members, along with our team of contractors, loyal vendors, which help in achieving our best work.
How do you plan to sustain your place in the market?
I feel the strategies mentioned in point 5 should help. But besides that, coming with new interesting ideas , more sleek detailed work with some space saving pieces should help sustain our place in the market.
What is your best motivation line that inspires you?
“Be Your Own Inspiration!”
Could you share details about source of funding, revenue, client acquisition model and statistics so far?
We do not have any source of funding yet. We work on percentage or lumsum basis, depending on the size and type of the project. After receiving an advance, payment from the client is done in instalments. Material payments are done directly to the vendors. No cuts are taken by us and all discounts are forwarded to the client.
What are your future plans?
Our future plan is to grow our team, get a larger office, increase our reach and get more clients and followers. Along with executing local projects, also concentrating on national and international projects.
What advice would you like to give the upcoming entrepreneurs?
Success to me is dreaming of something impossible, striving hard to achieve my goal and overcoming all obstacles that hamper my achievement. After, rejoicing my success, I set another challenging goal. So I would say, never stop dreaming and always keep trying!
