One such individual who was brave enough to strike out on her own and today runs a successful Beauty and Lifestyle blog. Let’s listen to her success story of The Pink Velvet blog.
Can you tell our readers about yourself?
I am a Commerce (B.com(Hons.)) Graduate from Delhi University. After completing my graduation with First Division my plans were to do an MBA or a Bank Job just like a regular graduated person. During my Bank coaching and on the day of Final and National Level Exam, I realized this is not what I want to do and I am unable to put my efforts into it. I realized I am more into social media, blogging, skincare, and beauty and that’s how I planned my career as a Beauty Blogger and Social Media Manager.
When and How the idea of ‘The Pink Velvet Blog’ took place?
I was sitting with my Mom and Brother like a regular evening planning to buy a domain for my blog. I asked them for few suggestions which can cover everything from Lifestyle, Food, and Beauty but at the same time, the name must not sound like to have an only beauty or only food related stuff. Suddenly, the word Velvet came into my mind and my brother transformed it into The Pink Velvet Blog. Within a second, I bought the domain with this fabulous name.
What is the information that you share with your readers on your platform?
Even when I was a Kid and Teenager, I used to try out new products so that I can experience them. Somewhere, it makes me feel happy that yes, I have tried it and now I can recommend/suggest to other people. This exactly what I do with on my Blog. I share my honest experience and reviews of beauty products to help readers. Even on Quora, I receive a lot of skincare and product related queries and I love to answer them. My target is not to impress the brand. My aim is to help readers who are looking for a review before Investing in a product or to share about a newly launched product. Beauty is my main niche but I also work with Lifestyle and Food Stuff.
What type of strategies do you think is better to increase traffic to the blog?
Your own content is everything. It must be something which can help a reader. Next, come SEO and Important Things like Including Headings in your post, Alt Tags for Images, Renaming your Images before Uploading, An appropriate title, editing your post link making sure it has all the keywords as per the title before publishing. Next comes with social sharing. I share my blog posts on a repeat basis on Multiple Social Platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Pinterest, Tumblr, Facebook Groups, LinkedIn, Wk, IndiBlogger, Skill Infinity, and many more.
Apart from this, I submit my blog in free blog submissions such as PaperBlog and Blogarama which helps as a Traffic Booster. And I also Keeps on Googling to find new ways to Improve my Blog and Blog Traffic.
Can you share your insights that how your platform is different from other industry bloggers?
Well, I think with my blog, I am the only person behind the content, coding, development of the blog, SEO, and marketing. I have a diploma in web development and a Diploma in Beginner’s Digital Marketing and I put all that knowledge on my blog. I am simply not writing words but I am making sure that Google understands it and it is reaching to readers. At the same time, I am a social media manager and I apply the same knowledge to my social platforms as well. But yes, when it comes to photography for my blog, My brother Rajat Verma is behind it who is a Professional Photographer. There are very few bloggers who take care of their blog dedicatedly from all aspect by themselves be it content, bright images, detailed post, technical aspects, and my heart is full of respect for them.

What is the revenue source of your platform?
Paid/Spons. Post or Collaborations is the only source of my Blog Revenue. Not every Collaboration is paid as sometimes having that Brand on my Blog (even in Barter Collaboration) Improves my blog’s traffic as well. I am Blogging from June 2016 and as the Blog Grows, the chances and number of Paid Collaboration increases 🙂
What is the big picture of your platform?
My aim is that whenever someone searches for a particular product review, my blog post should come under the first two or three links. I remember how whenever I searched for a review, Rati Tehri’s IMBB blog was the first link every time. I want people to know my blog as a place for honest and detailed reviews. I don’t blog for a brand and my job is not to complete a collaboration and handover the deliverables to brand. I blog for readers and I always feel happy when someone reaches me regarding their product or skin related query.
What do you think your big failure is and what did you learn from it?
To be honest, I have never seen anything like a “Fail” point in my life or in my blogging career. Be it my personal life or my blogging career, there were situations or decisions which didn’t reach the goal or were not so helpful. I call them destiny, luck, Learning Points or GOD’s decision/action but never see them as a “fail”. I do learn from my decisions or results which were not so fruitful. I guess it is my perspective that I don’t see a Fail or Failure to anyone or anything.
What is your best motivation line that inspires you?
People keep on saying that “Let them Judge” or “Do not focus on what others think” and I think this is what motivates me. Whenever I feel low, such full of positive quotes keeps on coming in front of my eyes out of nowhere. Sometimes I see a magazine and it is there. Sometimes on TV and sometimes my close friends say it and then I feel Like If I am happy and positive with what I am doing, I should not feel distracted.
How much time do you spend blogging?
I blog 2-3 times a week or depending on the on-going collaborations and it takes the whole day. Rest of the days I spend on promotion of my blog and posts or Improving my Blog with new tricks and techniques. I keep on Googling about it. I am active on Instagram most of the time and there is a number of Blogger Events which I cover 🙂 I am a Full-Time Blogger and work from home so some days and some nights go super busy and some days I am totally relaxing.
Would you encourage other passionate people to make their blog and any suggestions?
Yes, of course. If you are passionate about sharing the information or your knowledge to others, you should start blogging. But never come into blogging for free products. As I have seen people keep asking for Collaborations for Free products and when they get it, they disappear which ultimately leaves a black mark on Bloggers as a whole. It requires time, hard work, physical and mental strength but when we click on “Publish” button and traffic started coming in, it is the most satisfying feeling on this earth.
